Q: mike. Can I mulch pine needles? Or do they present a problem? by Roland Green from Maryland on October 25, 2011
A: Mulching fresh pine needles in this chipper could cause problems, since they carry a lot of sticky sap.
You might wind up having to disassemble the chipper and clean all the parts with alcohol or turpentine to get the sap off before it gums up the works, so I wouldn't recommend it.
Mulching dry pine needles wouldn't be so bad; but you may want to wear a mask, since they can produce a lot of dust. I would avoid putting large quantities through this chipper, since they are pretty tough. by Mike, Product Expert
Q: Will this shredder work for garden refuse, such as squash and cucumber vines? And if so, do I have to dry them first? by JIll from Delaware on July 17, 2011
A: They should probably be dired out, to minimize the moisture in the machine. by Mike, Product Expert
Q: I bought the ES1600, which is 14 amp. Can I use a 15 amp plug with it? And is it capable of mulching pine cones? by Dc from South Carolina on April 24, 2011
A: Yes, you can use the 15 amp plug. The 14amp means what its rated for. I wouldn't recomend putting the pine cones in the shreddar. by Mike, Product Expert

Excellent machine
I have had it for two full years and it had exceeded my expectations. I use it only for limbs of trees, and it does a great job.
I have 4 acres of wooded land so have used it a lot.
