Earthwise (8") 18-Volt Cordless Pole Saw

I received this little battery operated pole saw today and after charging the battery I tried it out. I started on some small dead branches and worked up to a 3-12 inch limb. No problem, it cut through that limb in about 30 seconds and didn't even groan.

Plenty of power and after about 20 minutes of trimming the battery was still doing pretty well although it had slowed a bit. This is a NiMh 18 volt battery (actually measures 22 volts fully charged) Does the job. This is well built and because the saw frame and end bar is steel it may be a bit heavy for the girls.

I know it challenged me a bit at an angle when extended to its full length. I would grade this as a 4 out of 5 overall and the weight is the drawback but for the cost you can't expect a light carbon fiber model.
