Q: Mike, I deciding between a 16" Hitachi for $210 and a 16" Husquarna-235 for $210 from Sear's for home use. Your thoughts, please.

A: The Hitachi is mor of a commercial grade saw. We don't have the Husqvarna 235 available. We have the 235E and that is a cunsumer grade saw. Both are very good a reliable. If it was my choice, I wouold go with the 235. Just for dependability and performance.

 Great homeowner saw!

I took patience to break in the motor, bar/chain, etc....
It runs better, the more I use it.

Reliable, predictable. My husky has been in the shop for 3 weeks. This little guy finished the job.

I actually went out and bought another one, I was so impressed.

I put an Oregon "double guard" sprocket tip bar on the saw to protect the chain, since it has such a small bar..

Predictable and easy to start as a 4 stroke.

Best money I ever spent!

 Nice saw for the price.

Recently received this saw as a gift, read some reviews that said it was underpowered (that guy was trying to cut a hickory, duh) and didn't start up very easy.

But- there was one that said to put some gas on the air filter. I did that, gave the primer bulb a half dozen pumps and it started up on the third pull.

Didn't want to idle at first but once it had a chance to warm up it idled and ran great. I did a little cutting and it handled it like a champ.

I have used Stihl chainsaws for many years and the complaints others have had with this ... more

Returning from manditory evacuation, found a large tree in my yard from my neighbor.

Got some fresh fuel and started up my new saw. Took a while to prime itself, but then started and ran very well all day. Not much power but adequate for small trees and limbs.

Quiet, easy to start, light weight and idles nicely. Simple to clean filter.
