Consumer-Grade Gas Powered Chain Saw •Ideal for jobs like pruning, lighter cutting tasks & hobby work
Smart Start •Resistance in the starter cord is reduced by up to 40% •Air purge designed for quick and easy starting
LowVib Vibration Damping System •Reduces vibration from the engine and transmission •Lowers fatigue
X-TORQ Engine •Lower fuel consumption and reduced exhaust emission levels
Air Injection •Air cleaning system removes larger dust/debris particles •Results in reduced air filter cleanings and improved engine life
Tool-Less Chain Tensioning •Makes adjusting the chain tension easy
Easy to Work With and Safer To Use •Slim body, high center of gravity and flat underside •Double acting chain brake •Right hand guard and chain catcher
Husqvarna has earned their great reputation with years of quality products and innovative features.
This saw uses their X-Torq engine with Smart Start. What that means for you is really easy starting- like up to 40% less 'oomph' to pull the engine to life.
Chain tensioning- to keep the chain running true along the blade and cutting properly- is done without tools on this model. Just a simple knob adjustment and you're back to cutting. No searching in the leaves for your dropped wrench.
Put that with better fuel consumption, fewer emissions, vibration damping, and an automatic oiler, and you have a unit that will let you spend your time cleaning up your property, not fussing with your chain saw.

Needs
I bought this saw for my husband for Christmas..and myself? He bought me a Poulan and it is only good for trimming, it bogs down and stalls all the time.
I used the Husk to cut a fairly large tree down, and it cut like a dream..SOOO much better than his old poulan and my little poulan. However now that we have been using it for sometime..it still screams thru smaller wood but struggles to get thru the big stuff.
We are cutting wood to burn for the winter. This is a need and we need a saw to do that job. Just the other day we were out cutting a tree and my husaband 18" poulan siezed up..must have been jealous of the new saw.
OVER ALL...This saw is a good buy and does the majority of what we ask of it. I would recommend to buy, but pick smaller trees.
EASY TO START
EASY TO HANDLE
GREAT VIBRATION PROTECTION
CSD RESPONDS: A sharp chain can make a world of difference in the performance of your chain saw. Many folks will have 2 chains on hand, so when one gets dull it only takes a few minutes to change out to a sharp chain and get back to work. Then you can sharpen the dull chain at your leisure.
It sounds like you're using the saw often enough that you're using fresh gas/oil mix in the correct ratio; but old gas can also affect the performance of your chain saw.
If your chainsaw still isn't performing as good as it used to, even with fresh gas and a sharp chain, you may want to have your local Husqvarna service techs check it over. They should be able to get it back in tip-top shape.

How to work with a chan saw
Excellent instruction on the DO's & Don'ts of using a chin saw. I would recommend it to the novice or expert.
I found the Husqvarna Model 240E to start on the first pull and performance was excellent.
The Husqvarna Powerbox offers a way to store the chain saw safely and offers room for motor oil, chain oil and cutting chain sharping tools .ie, files and gauges etc.
Chain Saws Direct should consider carrying Husqvarna sharping tools for their saws if available.
CSD RESPONDS: Husqvarna's bars & chains are made by Oregon, and we'll be expanding our Oregon lineup for next season!

So many wasted years...
I always find a need for a chain saw... just thought a cheap one would do. Boy was I wrong! This is not much more in price than a "cheap" saw but is is SO much more than any "mid-grade" saw! Get it if you use one!!!

Not a commercial saw
I bought this saw thinking I was getting a good quality saw. I realized it was not a commercial saw, but I was disappointed when it arrived.
I would have sent it back but I needed a saw right then. Everything on the saw is plastic except the chain and bar; and I'm questioning even the piston.
I am surprised that Husqvarna would even put their name on it. I needed a saw a week later in a hurry, and purchased a Craftsman with bigger bar and motor for less money and a better warranty.
CSD RESPONDS: It sounds like you might be comparing apples to oranges.
The Husqvarna 240-e is designed as a Consumer, or Homeowner grade saw. That means it has to be lightweight (hence the plastic) and reliable (which is why you bought a Husqvarna).
A saw with a bigger bar and heavier motor is a different tool. And, there is no way to know who made that model saw for Craftsman.
Husqvarna may be more expensive at the beginning, but their record proves it will pay off in the long run. (No need to doubt the piston; it's not plastic!)

Owner's Manual On Both Websites
Well, the chain saw is fine. But it came without an owner's manual, so I called and a guy at your number who said he didn't have one.
I got a number off off the Husqvarna web site and got a guy who said he would mail me a manual. About a week later, I got what looked like a copied version which had no diagrams or pictures, as in "see diagram A."
Finally, I found a dealer about 30 miles from my house who was a very nice. He gave me a manual for free and a lecture on why I shouldn't buy a chain saw from a web site.
CSD RESPONDS: The Owner's Manual for your saw is on our web site; just click on the button that says "Owner's Manual" under the picture of the saw. (We have reminded ALL of our customer service folks, too!)
We post every manual we can find since they are so helpful.
Second, if you had clicked on "Support" when you were on the Husqvarna site you would have been able to download the manual from there, too and saved yourself the lecture.

For 20 bucks more than its best selling cousin the 235E, you get more power.
What makes this also a savvy purchase is that the larger engine will let them get done cutting faster without adding a lot more weight.
The Smart Start feature makes the pull start up to 40% easier than other engines.
Not having to cuss and strain will make the $20 bucks well worthwhile.

Excellent Buy for the money
This is an excellent buy for the money.
It took me 16 years to wear out a Husqvarna 36, and I expect the same out of this one.
I cut a couple of hundred trees per year between 6" and 30" thick. This saw is a little too small for the larger trees, but handles like a dream because of the light weight and good balance.
