| Chain Saws Direct Recommendation |
| By Chain Saws Direct |
Husqvarna has earned their great reputation with years of quality products and innovative features.
This saw uses their X-Torq engine with Smart Start. What that means for you is really easy starting- like up to 40% less 'oomph' to pull the engine to life.
Chain tensioning- to keep the chain running true along the blade and cutting properly- is done without tools on this model. Just a simple knob adjustment and you're back to cutting. No searching in the leaves for your dropped wrench.
Put that with better fuel consumption, fewer emissions, vibration damping, and an automatic oiler, and you have a unit that will let you spend your time cleaning up your property, not fussing with your chain saw. |

| Not a commercial saw |
| By Robert (Leamington, UT) |
I bought this saw thinking I was getting a good quality saw. I realized it was not a commercial saw, but I was disappointed when it arrived.
I would have sent it back but I needed a saw right then. Everything on the saw is plastic except the chain and bar; and I'm questioning even the piston.
I am surprised that Husqvarna would even put their name on it. I needed a saw a week later in a hurry, and purchased a Craftsman with bigger bar and motor for less money and a better warranty.
CSD RESPONDS: It sounds like you might be comparing apples to oranges.
The Husqvarna 240-e is designed as a Consumer, or Homeowner grade saw. That means it has to be lightweight (hence the plastic) and reliable (which is why you bought a Husqvarna).
A saw with a bigger bar and heavier motor is a different tool. And, there is no way to know who made that model saw for Craftsman.
Husqvarna may be more expensive at the beginning, but their record proves it will pay off in the long run. (No need to doubt the piston; it's not plastic!) |

| Owner's Manual On Both Websites |
| By Jack Sinclair (Alexandria, VA) |
Well, the chain saw is fine. But it came without an owner's manual, so I called and a guy at your number who said he didn't have one.
I got a number off off the Husqvarna web site and got a guy who said he would mail me a manual. About a week later, I got what looked like a copied version which had no diagrams or pictures, as in "see diagram A."
Finally, I found a dealer about 30 miles from my house who was a very nice. He gave me a manual for free and a lecture on why I shouldn't buy a chain saw from a web site.
CSD RESPONDS: The Owner's Manual for your saw is on our web site; just click on the button that says "Owner's Manual" under the picture of the saw. (We have reminded ALL of our customer service folks, too!)
We post every manual we can find since they are so helpful.
Second, if you had clicked on "Support" when you were on the Husqvarna site you would have been able to download the manual from there, too and saved yourself the lecture. |

| A lot of bang for your buck |
| By Chain Saws Direct (Bolingbrook, IL) |
This is a lot of bang for your buck.
For 20 bucks more than its best selling cousin the 235E, you get more power.
What makes this also a savvy purchase is that the larger engine will let them get done cutting faster without adding a lot more weight.
The Smart Start feature makes the pull start up to 40% easier than other engines.
Not having to cuss and strain will make the $20 bucks well worthwhile. |

| Excellent Buy for the money |
| By keith (Fairmont, MN) |
This is an excellent buy for the money.
It took me 16 years to wear out a Husqvarna 36, and I expect the same out of this one.
I cut a couple of hundred trees per year between 6" and 30" thick. This saw is a little too small for the larger trees, but handles like a dream because of the light weight and good balance. |
