These are great for not only lifting or moving logs but carrying pcs of fire wood that would otherwise be too large to grip with one hand. That way one can carry 2 or more large chunks in one trip.
I have 2 other sets by other mfgrs but these by Oregon are far better because the joints are fastened by lock nuts rather than swedged or riveted.
The lock nuts can be adjusted to be nice and loose to they close easily around the log, making them truly a one-hand device. The other riveted type tend to be too tight and you have to fuss w/ them to close around the log. It takes a LOT of use for them to loosen up.
The softer "rubber like" handle is also an advantage.
