I bought one of these saws years ago. I have used it for trimming tree limbs and other jobs where a heavy saw would have not worked.
The saw looks cheaper than the Poulan electric which at the time cost about half again as much. I did not think this saw would last as well as it has. I still use mine. It can be run inside a house.
I use a wood burning heater in the winter and keep this saw handy so when a log is to long I trim it off right in the house. It does not blow saw dust as badly as as a circular saw. Cutting round wood up to 3 or 4 inches thick is easy.
This saw chain does not run as fast as gasoline saws so my grandson is learning to use it, I feel it's a lot safer than the gas saws that zoom.
The oiler IS NOT automatic. To oil the chain open the small top cap and pour full of oil. Now push on the oil filler cap with the saw motor not running. Push and hold for a few seconds. Then run the motor up to let the oil circulate. Repeat until the chain is well oiled before each cut.
NEVER touch the chain with the motor running or the saw connected to electrical power. Keep the chain well oiled. I like mine very much.
CSD RESPONDS: For safety's sake we'd like to remind readers to always follow the warnings and instructions in their chain saw's Owner's Manual. Please use the recommended chain oil to keep your warranty intact, and be sure that only qualified adults use the saw.
