Prosumer grade is half way between Consumer grade and Professional Grade- it's great for homeowners that only want to buy a tool once and are willing to pay a little more; and for professionals that may only need a tool every so often, so are willing to spend a little less.

This Tanaka has an engine that meets strict California emissions standards (CARB), which is very unusual for chain saws. The engine runs smoothly, and starts with up to 50% less effort than conventional 2-stroke saws.

The small size is meant for working up in a tree- literally. There is a retractable climbing hook so the tree can "hold" the saw while you get yourself set safely. The unit is compact so it doesn't catch on branches as you climb.

Just because it's small, don't think it's not powerful. It's 1.6 HP; enough to take care of branches or saplings all day long. The rubber grip is comfortable and well balanced, making this saw an excellent choice for shorter or less athletic folks.
