A: Troy-bilt used to make an electric start unit a while back, but it's not in their current line-up. I'm sorry, there isn't one for us to sell at this time.
Electric starters add more weight and more cost to a chipper vac, so they aren't big sellers, but if we find a good one at a good price you can be sure we'll add it to our store! by Mike, Product Expert
Q: I keep going back and forth between the Troy-Bilt CSV060 (24") 173cc Chipper Shredder Vacuum and the Cub Cadet (24") 173cc Chipper Shredder Vacuum. Is there a huge difference between the two. I have less that 1/2 acre of land but LOTS of trees. Leaves everywhere! Is one better than the other? Are either of these machines big enough for the job? Thanks for your time

A: One thing that might help is our Compare feature.
Just click on Chippers & Shredders at the top of our web site, then click on the Chipper Vacuums link.
Click to put a green check-mark in the Compare box for each unit you're interested in, then click on the word Compare to see them side by side and feature by feature.
The biggest difference is the larger wheels on the back of the Cub- they might make manuvering around your trees a little easier.
You may also want to check under the Service Center link at the bottom of our site to see if one brand has a shop closer to you than the other for tuneups.
Last but not least, we have the Cub Cadet model in stock, so it will ship right away; where it will take Troy-bilt 2 to 5 business days to get the CSV060 off their dock.

Q: What happens if you vacuum over stones and small rocks? Will that damage the blades? by Peter from California on October 26, 2011
A: The Owner's Manual for this unit (found under the Specs tab) says, on page 4, "Do not operate this unit on a paved, gravel, or non-level surface."
So, you will want to stop the engine if you need to wheel it over a gravel driveway or landscape bed.
That being said, a stone or two (not dozens, mind you!) small enough to be picked up by the vacuum might put a small ding in the blades, but it can be smoothed out when you have them sharpened. by Mike, Product Expert

We realize that blowing leaves doesn't solve your yard problem, it just moves it into somebody else's yard. This unit solves the problem of leaves, branches, and debris- and you won't strain your back in the process.
It's self-propelled, so nice, even passes are easy even on large yards. And there's a hose attachment to get under plantings and into shrubs- no more raking or picking by hand.
Once the yard is clean and tidy, you can use the fresh mulch in the bag for your compost pile or your plantings, saving money on store-bought bags of mulch and landfill fees.

Hello All,
Just to tell you about the chipper, shredder, vacuum we just got from you.
It is so great, we have lots of leaves and on the roof of the house, we sweep them and vacuum them up.
Helps us so much and works great . We have spent lots of time raking leaves and now it cuts the time in half. We do the whole yard and the flower beds.
