Q: how long can the power cord be for a 16" worx and how big a tree will a 14" worx cut
by Linda from Massachusetts on November 01, 2011
A: The extension cable used to reach the AC power source must be specifically marked as suitable for outdoor use, the W-A marking must be visible on the cable, and it must be heavy enough to carry the current the full length of the cable.
If these conditions are not observed, loss of power and overheating may damage the cable and the saw.
For this 16" saw, at least a 14 gauge W-A extension cord, up to 50 feet long is recommended. A cord longer than 50 feet is not recommended.
A 14" saw is ideal for trimming limbs and branches. If you want to take on felling trees, please read through the advice found in the Owner's Manual. You can download a copy by clicking on the link on the right side of our Specs page.
The Owner's Manual will also list recommended extension cord gauges and lengths for this saw. by Mike, Product Expert
Q: Is there a limit to how many or how long of an extention cord I can use? Some reviews sound like you are limited to a 100 ft cord. by Joyce Fischer from Iowa on June 02, 2011
A: Once you go over a certain amount of footage, the power is decreased and the gauge of the extension cord need to be more. There could be stress put on the motor if not porperly powered. by Mike, Product Expert

Still early
Just used my new Worx 16 inch electric chain saw for the first time.
Very easy to use and was very surprised with the cutting power of the saw. Had my girlfriend and the girl next door cutting limbs and branches in no time.
